We are tickled pink to have head bridal designer, Xay Vongphachaanh, in the salon on Saturday, Feb the 4th for the Watters trunk show!! This is rare appearance by this uber talented fashion maven, and we are so priveledged to be given this special opportunity.

What a huge honor and memorable occasion it is to have the opportunity to select your wedding gown along side the highly accredited designer that created it......Serendipitous indeed.

Watters and WTOO have continued to withhold their title as one of the most flattering and fashion forward lines available. The gowns are designed and constructed with the utmost care and attention to detail. Xay has mastered the balance of trendy AND timeless while maintaing an individualistic look all of their own. The Spring 2012 line keeps in this tradition and does not disappoint.

It was a finale show complete with tears, laughs and quite possibly the prettiest wedding on a tennis court you will ever see. Star of Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Lisa Vanderpump's daughter, Pandora tied the night to seal the season.

Her gown was a reflection of the lush and floral event...complete with a ball gown adorned with roses and crystals. The fitted bodice was very flattering the buxom british blonde, and the skirt was just as the fans would come to expect from this extravagant group.

For a similar look, Liz Field's 9108 offers the same fairy tale princess feel along with the uber romantic addition of silky organza rosettes and crystal, lace embroidery along the sweetheart neckline

The Fall 2012 collection has started to arrive and proves to be one of the coolest yet.... even better, they have made it that much easier to stay on trend. Golden Globes Fashion

"Enchantment Under the Sea Ball" anyone?? Mermaids of all shades and sizes graced the red carpet this year at the Golden Globes.

Overall, I was a little underwhelmed, but so very impressed with the impeccable tailoring of EVERY gown. Even if the dress itself was not terribly desirable for me, the fits were spot on. This is such a huge aspect of making your style an unforgettable one. Even with the most beautiful gown; if the fit is not perfected, it will look sloppy and unfinished. Take a note from these starlets and always, always seek a professional when tailoring a gown.

My favorite look of the night belonged to Julie Bowen. I thought that her Reem Acra gown was delicate, well fitted and very lovely. Pronovias style "Adela" creates a similarly sweet cap sleeve and flattering bodice.

Come to find out, Olivia Wilde wore this gown to the 2008 Emmy Awards. As we all know, when there is a gown that is too beautiful to pass up, even if it has been worn before, a change up in styling can make it look like a completely different dress. This obviously holds true for wedding gowns as well.

I actually prefer Wilde's hair and jewelry choices over Bowen's, and if I am playing stylist for the moment, I would have switched the shades of gowns on these two beauties. The nude gown would have created a more golden glow on Olivia, and the icier shade would have stood out on Julie's creamy complexion.

There were a few hair styles that were amazing for me and would be beautiful for a bridal look.

Reese Witherspoon took the award for sexiest hair by far. This textured and full wavy style was a great compliment to the sexy shape of her gown, and would be a wonderful look for a sassier bride, just as it does for Lazaro style LZ3105.

I love the pairing of the sparkly hair band with Charlize Theron's low side swept 'do. It would make for a beautiful reception style. Tony Federici has amazing headpiece options for this chic look.

The "knotty" bridal hair look is a wonderful option for a textural take on the up do. Gowns with detailed backs, such as Pronovias's "Pergola," it is ideal to have a 'do that doesn't cover the gown while creating an interesting style that holds up without a veil.

Gorgeous New Lazaro Gown

Love, love, love this glam gown by Lazaro! LZ3207 is a WOW dress from top to bottom. The sheer lace corset is super romantic and the fitted satin skirt screams chic. The jewel encrusted satin sash at the natural waistline completes this gorgeous number. The adorable bow adds a hint of "girlie" to the fabulous tooshy hugging skirt. This gown is jaw-dropper coming AND going!

I am all about changing looks from ceremony to reception, but when you have a gown this stunning, strut your stuff in it as long as you can. A great way to change up looks would be to wear your hair in a chic up do for the ceremony with some great chandelier earrings, and then soften the style by letting your locks flow, and adding a fun necklace and cool earrings to party down at the reception.

Sona or Adora earrings in champagne from Kendra Scott, would pair fabulously for a formal ceremony.

Kendra Scott's Lola Rose necklace and Marlene earrings would add a sense of playful romance to a reception style.

Here a couple of bridesmaids dresses that hold worthy to this awesome bridal style.

Jim Hjelm 5227 adds another element of lace and sass to complete a beautiful bridal party. Pair this long and lean style with a soft half up, half down hair do for an elegant and easy look.

This Jim Hjelm style 5238 complements the formality of the gown, and adds a stylish 70's kick with the peplum top and skinny belt. Warning: for the fashion conscience ladies only. ;)

The Fall 2012 Monique Lhuillier Bridesmaids collection has arrived, and we are over the moon for these stylish and sassy little numbers! These gowns are designed with today's ballerina inspiration in mind, and believe me, they are definitely dance worthy.

It is no secret that delicate dresses are among my favorite styles, but if I had to pick one gown that is my favorite of the fall collection, it would have to be 450065. The feminine neckline, exposed boning and flowy skirt incorporate all of my most adored details of this season into one lovely gown. The blush pink shade is simply icing on the cake. Pair this style with ANY piece from Kendra Scott's rose quartz collection, and you will have a beyond beautiful bridal party!

Looking Back on the Celebrity Bridal Gowns of 2011

2o11 has been noting less than monumental in the world of bridal fashion. Let's take a trip down memory lane and look at the most talked about bridal looks for 2011, and find inspiration from these celebrity styles.

Molly Sims.

Hands down, the most stylish and creative use of the mix n' match bridesmaids trend. The beautiful Sims customized her bridal party in neutral shades of taupe to stone and incorporated pattern within the grouping of these amazing dresses. The most impressive aspect of her party's wardrobe is that even though the dresses are interesting and totally drool worthy, the overall feel is somewhat understated in a way not to take away attention from the bride. Kudos!!

Want to try the patterned party member trend? Liz Fields has a huge array of styles, colors and subtle patterns to choose from. You can never go wrong with a black and white ensemble.

Watters and WTOO offer a classic variety of silhouettes within a neutral palette. The long and short options will suite the taste and figure of any bridesmaid.

Another knock out celebrity took part in this trend...Jessica Alba sported this one-shouldered Amsale chiffon number at a friend's wedding. Amsale's chiffon collection is note-worty indeed.

Miranda Lambert.

I adore and admire the personal touches incorporated with her bridal looks. During the ceremony, Lambert wore her mother's gown adding sentiment to the romantic nuptials. Wearing the same cowboy boots and headpiece, she swapped her long gown out with a short sassy number more appropriate for two steppin'. The change of wardrobe stayed true to the setting and fun feel of the event...it was a seamless transition...and an adorable one to "boot."

From the Lo-Ve-La collection by Liz Fields #9101 makes the transition from long to short that much easier. The skirt is detachable and rock and roll ready!

LeAnn Rimes.

This svelte star had her second wedding this year, and aside from the controversial circumstance of her wedding, she made the most of it. She went glamazon....side slit "up to there" and all.

Admire her style? Lazaro's LZ3052 is beaded, sassy, AND uber classy.

Reese Witherspoon.

This hollywood starlet brought the blush into the meaning of "blushing bride." The softest shade of pink was incorporated to her corset style gown, and the added depth of her satin sash, completed her coveted look. Such a beauty.

Kim Kardashian.

Her "Royal Reality Wedding," was watched by millions and before the replica gowns could hit the shelves..it was over. This over the top event and media storm was nothing less than incredible. In any event, there were three looks KK debuted, and her ceremony gown was my favorite.

This ballerina inspired ball gown Jim Hjelm Blush's 2012 collection is similar in shape as Kim's ceremony gown, sans the basked waist. "Primrose" debuted at the Fall New York Market and has continued to be a press favorite.

Kate Middleton.

Her title might now be Duchess Kathryn, but she is ALL Princess if you ask me. The world's most anticipated wedding on this decade was nothing less than a real life fairy tale. The hush hush design of her gown created a huge sense of intrigue and everybody was on pins and needles for that first glimpse as she emerged from her vehicle. She did not disappoint . Her lace and satin ball gown was perfectly tailored and beyond exquisite. Although extravagant in detail, the aesthetic stayed true to Kate's seemingly classic and chic style.

Many designers came up with their own "Princess Kate" gown, and although many are beyond beautiful, individuality is always the prettiest form of expression. A fantastic way to incorporate a royal inspiration is with the addition of a lace bolero. Paloma Blanca is the master of this art, and accompanied with a sleek design, this look is demure and regal.

My favorite trend that that Kate resurrected, is the lace veil. This is a feminine and lovely look that gives a romantic style that perfect finishing touch.

Now onto her second gown....LOVE IT!!! Oh, beaded belt, I could not love you more.....a simple addition that can make the most clean and classic of silhouettes, a masterpiece.

Paloma Blanca's #4210 has the flattering design of the full A-line skirt with an added element of drama at the waistline with a beautiful rhinestone adornment. Best of all?? This beauty has pockets. Who doesn't love that?!?

The Right Gown for Your Body Type

Congrats, Congrats, Congrats!!

If you thought that this would be an article defining a small category of bridal gowns that you should be choosing based on the proportion of your waist to hip ratio....you are incorrect. There are guidelines, sure, but finding your wedding dress is a completely personal decision based on your personality, venue and style. Don't let anybody make you think otherwise.

I will, however, give some info and tricks that I have gathered along the way.

-First and foremost, set a budget. This will eliminate a whole slue of options, as well as define the designers that are worth exploring and researching. An average custom order gown is around $2000. This does not include the cost of a seamstress that will be needed to perfect the fit and add the bustle. Set aside around $400 this this service.

-Know your timeframe. Custom order bridal gowns will take 4-6 months to arrive into your salon. "Custom" gown simply means that you will be ordering your size, based on measurements, per the designer, as well as any special changes that differ from the sample.....such as color, neckline, length, etc. Don't be surprised if you end up ordering a much larger size than a dress that you would pick up at Nordstrom. It's a totally different ball game when dealing with mostly European sizing. Are you an uber proficient planner, and set a wedding date sooner than the allotted time?? Not to worry, there are rush shipping options as well as sample sale gowns in most salons that can be purchased directly from the floor if need be.

-Consider your venue and season. Yep, it's usually warm in Texas, and depending on the setting of your wedding, this will impact the decision of what gown to choose. Outdoor settings scream for flowy, lacy options, and indoor venues open the doors to heavy satin, full ball gowns and just about anything that you can imagine. Does your wedding day include a little bit of both? Consider versatile gowns that photograph great in both settings. Texture, delicate details, and layering will do the trick.

-Now to the silhouettes....bridal consultants will throw a lot of gown terminology at you...do with it what you will. Keep in mind that each designer has their own interpretation of these shapes. As long as you feel gorgeous, and like a bride, whatever "line" the gown is...that's the one for you. The most universally flattering style will forever be the A-line. Just as it sounds, the A-line is simply constructed with a fitted bodice and a skirt that flows away from the body creating emphasis at the small of the waist and attention away from the hips.

-Always want to be the belle of the ball? Ball gowns are probably better suited for you. Typically, if dresses are given this royal title because of the size of the skirt, and can be jazzed up by adding more petticoat when desired. Many of these skirts will be given more pizazz and visual interest with a variation of pleats. Box pleats wall lay flat and create a more heavy and formal fit, and small gathered pleats will add volume without weight.

-Feeling sassy?? Mermaid and Trumpet styles can be a little more sultry if that is what is desired. These shapes can range for the slightly shapely to the extreme. Similarly, these gowns will hug the body from top to bottom. The definitive difference is that the mermaid will have a joinline to separate the skirt, creating a more dramatic "poof" at the hem.

- A trumpet will typically have less petticoat, and allow more ease of movement for those that plan to boogie their night away.

-Looking for a flirty cut, but not a totally fitted shape? A fit and flare might be the right line for you. These gowns will again be fitted at the bodice, but differ, in that the skirt will be slightly snug at the hips and then trail into a fuller skirt.

-If boho chic or glam gowns are your thing...look into the sheath or empire cuts. These gowns are perfect for smaller, outdoor affairs, as well as destination weddings. The empire dress will have a join line just under the bust and can either float away from the figure or remain fitted at the rib cage. A sheath dress will usually be constructed in a lighter fabric such as a charmeuse...which means one thing...SPANX, baby SPANX. Even the tiniest and tightest of bodies will need some slimming and smoothing. Think..Pippa.

Now for the necklines.....

-Strapless. This is the most flattering, and most popular of necklines. Included in these lines will be the sweetheart, scoop and straight across, and believe it or not, there are several variations of each of these styles. The key to this puzzle?? Pick a line that lengthens your neckline, flatters your feminine décolletage and appropriately stores and supports your "girls." Are you stepping away from strapless because you have seen too many brides doing the dreaded yank move in the middle of their wedding? Don't dispair. The way to nip this obnoxious issue in the bud, is simply by wearing the proper undergarments as well as making sure that a professional seamstress is customizing the cut. Yank no more.

-Halter. Always a classic and comfortable choice. Just be aware of proportions. The smaller your frame is; the thinner the straps should be, and the deeper the plunge should go. If you have wide shoulders, choose a thicker line and a crossover bodice for more coverage and balance out your frame. Double sided tape would be a good purchase to go along with these gowns. Just to be safe.

-Off the shoulder is making it's comeback. There are not as many gowns with this option, and the reason behind this is simple...it tends to restrict movement. Dancing and hugging can be more difficult with these shoulder hugging straps, but if they are made with lace, this fabric allows for a little more stretch, and if you find the right fit, it will make for a memorable look.

-Want sleeves? Thanks to Dutchess Kathryn, there are more samples of these styles than ever. These demure designs can be customized, to create the desired length and circumference of sleeve that you desire. Another simple way to create your very own royal style? Add a lace bolero to just about any strapless gown, and viola! Your reign begins.

This is a LOT of info, and there is much more out there. Use it as you wish, and keep in mind, looking at photos of gowns is totally different than seeing them in person, and be prepared to fall in love with something that is completely different than you had envisioned. You never know how you will feel until you start trying them on. The experience when searching for your wedding dress should be fun, exciting and full of joy. Bring along loved ones if you wish, but keep in mind that this is YOUR decision, and YOUR day. And, when you find your dream dress that works with your timeframe, budget and venue.....( please forgive me for this)...Say yes to the dress. Trying on too many will only confuse and delay the situation. Again, congrats!

Bridesmaids Dress for a Holiday Party?!? Yes, You Can!

Tis the season ladies...Holiday parties are in full swing, and if all that is keeping you from your dream dress, is free time and excess funds...then I may have just the tip for you.

Dig in the back of your closet, yank out your collection of bridesmaids frocks, and put on your thinking cap. Let's be honest- there are so many gowns that are offered right now from amazing designers that are adorable enough for any soiree, but if you simply cannot visualize wearing these gowns without wanting to pair them with matching shoes and holding a cluster of flowers, then maybe we can "deconstruct" a dress together.

Here are a couple of tidbits that could bring your taffeta number to the next level....

Seek out a seamstress.
Not that Monique Lhuillier or Amsale needs styling tips on their designs, but maybe a floor length chiffon skirt hides your great gams, and the only thing keeping you from your "go to gown", is too much fabric......no problem! Simply contact an experienced seamstress, and let her know how much leg you love to show, and there you go....a custom cut, designer gown collaboration made just for you!

Here are two great examples of Amsale bridesmaids dresses in both the longer and shorter version.

Thinking about busting your leather leggings for a night out? Here is another option for you to ponder when taking these gowns for a makeover. How would one of these dresses look as a top?? Bustiers are big, big, big, and if you have a strapless gown with a prominent join line at the waist and exposed boning, then you already have a designer piece hanging in your closet, and you just don't know it!! Take it to your seamstress and see what can be done. If you decide to cut the whole skirt off, you need to make sure to bring your pants with you for the fitting. Unless you want to expose your midriff, make sure the top is cut long enough. Don't forget that peplums are really in right now too, so if your bm dress has a full skirt with box pleats, leaving a few inches of the skirt would create you this adorable look in just a few nips and tucks.

Add a piece from your own wardrobe.
If you think that your boss might not appreciate the slightly revealing sweetheart neckline, or that he might appreciate it a little too much, the only thing that these dresses need is the addition of a cardigan. 1950's inspirations are everywhere in fashion, and there is nothing classier than a cute, and fitted cardi. There are some super cute ones out there adorned with jewel accents and lace that would totally change the look of a strapless bridesmaids dress, and it will keep you warm and toasty until the merry drinks kick it. ;)

Another way to add an extra element and texture to a former bridal party frock is adding some great tights. Add a brightly colored pair with a neutral dress, or a lace pattern with an LBD. Make your look as funky and festive as you are.

This is two weeks additional to add to the shipping lead time.

Metallics made their presence at last night's AMA Awards! Sparkly silver, gray and golden hues filled the red carpet, and I loved it! It was a combination of retro and rock and roll with some of the coolest hair styles we have seen in a while. Many of which would work great for a bridal!

Braids are BIG!

Bridal braids are amazing styles to compliment any gown. The placement of a fantastic headpiece or flowers within the 'do creates an opportunity to individualize the look, and capture the style that reflects your big day. Here are some of my favorites...

I love the larger than life headpiece that Katy Perry wore. This is such an elegant way to play up a classic up do.

The big, bouncy curls made their appearance again, playing up the retro glam vibe.

This is a look that is coming back in bridal as well. Many times brides feel as though they have to wear their hair up, but that is not the case.....if the weather is right and your hair can with hold the style, then go for it! These celebrity brides did...

Vanessa Minnillo obviously loves this look as well!

Now for my favorite look of the night.... Once again, Taylor Swift stole the show for me!

I love, love, love the pairing of the unexpected green earring. This simple addition adds interest and a pop of color.

Real Housewife Weds!

"Tardy For the Party" singer and reality star, Kim Zolciak borrows the "three's a charm" trend from recent bride, Kim Kardashian. Both Kims decided that one wardrobe change during their lavish events was just not enough....... instead, three gowns seems to be the magic number for royal reality weddings these days.

Zolciak married her Prince Charming, Kroy Biermann on the popular nuptial date of 11/11/11.

Her first gown was the most lavish creation by Baracci, weighing in at 32 pounds and apparently worth $58,ooo.

Dress #2, designed by Pnina Tornai from Say Yes to the Dress fame, is a fully embellished mermaid design adorned with Swarovski crystals and pearls.

Last, but certainly not least, Kim went with another Pnina ensemble, but this time in the form of a backless jumpsuit.

Now, if I were to dress this blonde bombshell???......

No doubt, I would go all out Lazaro. Zolciak obviously loves beadwork, detail and drama....what Lazaro is known best for.

For the ceremony, I would go with LZ3063. This swoon worthy ball gown is nothing short of a masterpiece, and can be styled with a detailed cathedral length veil, and encrusted sash for added drama.

The first wardrobe change would be into LZ3150. This show-stopper is body conscience, and heavily adorned without adding extra fabric to curves, allowing for an amazingly flattering fit.

For dancing the night away, LZ3156 is a great alternative to a jumpsuit. ;) This floral vintage lace sheath with and detailed overlay has the ease of a nightgown and the glamour worthy of a red carpet.

Another interesting tidbit is that Kim Zolciak took note of yet another detail from Kim Kardashian's wedding....according to celebritybrideguide.com, KZ's bridesmaids party wore ivory gowns resembling bridal attire just as KK's lovely ladies did. The gowns were custom designed by Serendipity's own, Anais Collezioni.

These photos from celebritybridalguide.com were the only ones that I could locate of the bridesmaids, but I hope to find more to see what this talented designer from the St. Pucci family created for this extravagant event.

It's here, and it's UNBELIEVABLE. Lazaro gown #3167 is an amazing masterpiece of a dress, completing the Fall 2011 collection. This champagne shredded net gown is covered in immaculate embroidery detail, and the sweetheart neckline is super flattering. This dress embodies all of the fantastic drama and elegance that Lazaro is known for, and we are so excited to have it at Serendipity Bridal.

OK, I admit, even thought I am a Texas girl, I do not know much about country music...... however, I usually know what to expect from a CMA Awards night, and that is: anything goes. The sparklier, brighter and shorter......the better. Having said that, I was a little shocked how muted the gowns seemed to be, and wished that there were some more bright colors to celebrate the evening. As far as styles go, there was a bit of everything on the red carpet, and let's just agree that it was interesting.

Here are a few of the looks from co-host, Carrie Underwood.

Underwood has never been one to hide from the spotlight, or be afraid to try new looks...but with gams like those, a sleek mini dress, killer heels and big "Texas" hair should be her go-to look.

Now, who can forget the image of this beauty on her wedding day?? She looked STUNNING in her textured ball gown, and the rosy pink sash was a perfect addition.

Here are some gowns that share the fabulous detailed corset look from WTOO, Liz Fields, and Lazaro.

Miranda Lambert is another recent bride that we will not soon forget. The country themed wedding was precious.... from her mama's wedding gown to her cowboy boots. Lambert did manage to work in an adorable wardrobe change, and mismatched bridesmaids dresses in true celebrity trend-setting fashion.

Here is her look from the CMAs....just as shiny and smiley as ever!

I love these two looks from last night. The sheer lace embroidery at the neckline is such a timeless and classic detail...I love that it is resurfacing in fashion right now. This ultra feminine touch adds softness and frames the face beautifully.

Here is a gown from Pronovias that proves how gorgeous this look can be!

I have gathered a varied assortment of looks from the CMAs last night, and I have to say... kudos to Erin Andrews for givin' a "yee-haw" in the form of a pink sparkly number to liven up this crowd.

Now for my fav.

Shocking.... it looks like a wedding gown, and I LOVE IT. Taylor Swift took a break from her usual cutesy dress wardrobe and went with this stunner. The fluid line and asymmetric layered hem add texture and interest to this fitted gown, and the deconstructed handkerchief detail is right on point with this innovative trend.

Jim Hjelm # 8151 shares this similar style, and Kendra Scott Sona earrings would complete the look quite nicely.

My Newest Love

I am obsessed with NORMA. This gown for the Watters Spring 2012 collection is everything and more that a wedding gown should be. The washed silk organza literally glides in movement, and the neckline is unforgettable. I am calling it the ballerina bust. It is this twisted gathering of fluid fabric that creates the most flattering and feminine silhouette imaginable. Simply breath taking.

Another great aspect of this gown is that it is so totally versatile! Depending on how you style the dress..it could be uber formal, or be perfectly appropriate for casual ceremony on the beach. The gown was presented at market with the Mae belt from Watters, adding an element of natural texture and floral interest.

Imagine a fully encrusted platinum belt like Serendipity's own Ryder, Fiona earrings from Kendra Scott, at the same delicate join line, and you have created a whole new style.

Did the Kardashian/Humphries Breakup Leave you Feeling Betrayed??

Join the club. Just like many of you other hopeless romantics out there....I feel duped. Those precious hours that I spent watching the extravagant nuptials and carefully studying the infamous 3 wedding gowns are gone, and I can never get them back. What can we learn from all of this..?

Questions about this wedding have been circulating like a tornado throughout the media...Was it for real? What will happen to the gifts? Will she give the ring back? What will happen to all of the gowns that were patterned after her 3 wedding looks?

Allow me to shed some light on these heavy issues. ;) Kim sticks to her guns and claims that the whole shindig was legit, "First and foremost, I married for love. I can't believe I even have to defend this," Kardashian tells E online.

As for the lavish gifts, unfortunately in KK fashion, rumor has it that most of the presents given to the happy couple were personalized. Not sure even Nordstrom would take those back.

The bling? No comment from Lorraine Schwartz, famous jewelry designer to the stars, and the Kardashian clan claims that it is theirs, not a loaner. The choice of whether or not to return the ring...who's to say at this point.

Now, for my area of expertise....the gowns. First off, celebrities and icons should give inspiration to bridal looks, not replicas. Every bride deserves to reveal their own style on their wedding day, not that of one seen by millions. Taking a page out of the Royal Wedding; even though Kate Middleton's gown was duplicated left and right, the real trend she set was one that has been a staple in a classic bride's style for decades....LACE...which can be interpreted in so many fantastic and individualistic ways. With all of that being said, basque waisted gowns do give the appearance of a smaller waist, charmeuse gowns are always stylish, and trumpet gowns are terrific. Just remember to make it your own, and not "Kim's dress #2."

Now here is a good question for ALL brides out there..What to do with the gowns after the wedding?? You have spent time and effort to find the perfect dress, now what should come of it? Well, it really all depends on the individual...the most responsible option would be to have your precious gown preserved. Serendipity offers the services of a respected gown preservation company that will send you the gown in a beautiful box with a "peek" window so you can view your dress whenever you would like. You can't open it though, or else it will begin the oxidation process, and will more than likely yellow through the years. If the goal is to give the option to your little girl to wear your dress in the future, this is the way to go.

Some photographers will shoot a "after session" in your gown. This is where you can go buck wild in your dress, and not worry about how dirty or wrinkled you get it. I have seen anything from brides laying in a field to jumping into the lake. Here are some of my favs, and more tame versions from Forever Photography. These couples took their attire out of town for a whole new setting for photos. Brilliant!

Another option, (which happens to be what I did), is to hang your gown where it is accessible to try on, linger at, and reminisce with. I LOVE my gown, and although the thought of keeping in pristine condition for my little angel to wear on her big day is sweet.....

I am realistic, and know that she will want to wear a gown covered in sparkles and dripping in jewels. My clean, classic dress will just not do. ;)

As for Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries, I think the biggest disappointment that came from all of this, is that her fans really wanted this marriage to work. Best of wishes, and we look forward to the next televised wedding from this family.

How to "Mismatch" Your Bridal Party

My favorite..Molly Sims' bridal party mixes it up in neutrals with a splash of print.

The days of "dye to match" shoes are thankfully dead, but the dreaded worry of finding a gown to flatter all of the bridesmaids lives on. Let's bury it together, shall we? Welcome the most pleasing trend for bridal parties.........mismatching the bridesmaids dresses. Check out the celebrities above that have taken a part in this playful trend.

Allowing your bridesmaids a little bit of controlled freedom in their gown choice, not only gives them the option to choose a flattering shape and a complimentary color to their skin tone, but also makes for the most adorable photos around! Capturing each ladies' individualism will give them confidence and pride in their attire selection, which reads for happier faces on film.

Now, we can't throw ALL rules out the window just yet...there needs to be a congruent theme to ensure that the group compliments one another, and most importantly, flatters the bride.

Here are some tips to ensure avoiding bridesmaids' bedlam:

1. Set your parameters.

Decide how far you want to take this trend. There are so many gowns and silhouettes out there, it will help to have boundaries. Do you want the gowns to be a mixture of lengths?..incorporate pattern?..alternate necklines?..choose one designer? Setting boundaries will help create a vision.

2. Choose all gowns from similar fabric.

Different fabrics have a different sheen. Some will photograph matte, and others can be shiny, which can read distracting in pictures. Although the colors and patterns may vary, the party should look overall uniformed.

3. Stick to one color palette.

Choose your colors from one "family." Unify your party in a range of a single spectrum. "Pink" is too broad of a color to have your girls choose from....shades of blush would be a better grouping.

4. Give your girls direction.

If you are allowing your bridesmaids to select their own gown, give them a good set of instructions to follow. For example, you could ask them to choose a silk chiffon gown in a range from light blue to smokey grey. Keep track of what everybody selects and share it with the group. This will avoid duplication, and give examples to the girls that might be having trouble deciding their look.

5. Don't forget the accessories.

Why stop at the gowns? Small trinkets can play a big part in this trend. Depending on the style of dress each bridesmaid is wearing, adding jewelry will only add to the individuality of the look. Higher necklines, and up 'dos allow for bigger earrings to stand out, while strapless dresses and flowing tresses look great paired with a statement necklace. Ahhh, the infamous Watters runway show.... Always one of the most anticipated collections of the season. This bridal superstar is consistently at the top of the game, and as always, debuted an incredible Spring 2012 line at the Fall Bridal Market.

These designs manage to always be a step ahead of the fashion trends, and yet, remain timeless. This line was no different. We viewed amazing glitz countered by romantic lace and layered chiffons. I love sharing these candid action images, because it showcases the movement and presence that each of these gowns possess. Enjoy!

WATTERS BRIDAL

"Vivien" is such a fantastic mix of elegant and modern. The jagged hemline on this full skirt is a grand and formal take on the trend.

Rightfully named, "Diana", this princess-esk gown is super chic and elegant. The lace illusion is very delicate and feminine. A perfect touch.

The way that this gown moves is beyond breath taking. The delicate fabric and strategic layers of the organza skirt are really amazing. "Norma" was an "ahhhh" moment for me.

The "Loren" top and "Sabrina" skirt paired together create a sexy and sophisticated look that I adore. This beautiful corset top, would be amazing with a shorter skirt for your "getaway" look.

"Greta" is a beautiful lace design with the heavily desired capped sleeve. The proportion of this scalloped lace sleeve is spot on, and the elegant detail of the beaded belt is a super stylish addition.

WTOO BRIDAL

"Emerson" is the glam gown for the modern bride. The pattern of the sparkle creates a super flattering and lengthening shape.

"Oriana" is a sensational ball gown filled with flirty and sweet details throughout. The soft straps at the textured bodice and floral appliques trailing down the nectar hued gown are nothing less than remarkable.

"Camden" is an uber romantic lace halter gown with a fitted shape and blush obi sash. This is a story book image of the beautiful blushing bride.

As always, Watters loves to introduce a fantastic new color to bridal, and this gorgeous WTOO gown, "Dove", in shown in dramatic steel has stolen the show!! Love it!!

I love, love, love this neckline!! The twisted knot is so interesting and delicate, and the fit of this gown is impeccable. The floral and crystal belt adds such a soft touch, and great balance. "Cole" is one of my favorites!

"Camilla" is a classic, super flattering shape, with an unbelievable mix of pleating and rosette design shown in a rich shade of champagne.

"Bristol" is at the at the top of my list! The combination of exposed boning in the corset top and heavy lace appliques trailed off to the hemline of the slightly fitted skirt are magnificent! Check out the little girl in the background...she agrees, it's jaw-dropping! ;)

Jim Hjelm Blush Spring 2012 Sneak Peek!

I can sum it up in two words...IN LOVE...with the Spring 2012 Jim Hjelm Blush collection that is. Hayley Paige, formally with Melissa Sweet, is now designing for this unbelievable line of gowns, and she has perfected a look for the flirty and innovative bride. Pure genius!

There was something so magical about the entire line of these gowns, that I could not wipe the smile off of my face... even hours after the show. These dresses are vibrant, young and super sassy. The silhouettes are flattering and sleek, and the fabrics are light and airy. Fantastic for outdoor, southern weddings!!

I will be sharing the full line of fashion pictures from this collection soon, but in the meantime, I could not wait another second to reveal my favorites! Enjoy!!

Primrose is an organza, and tulle ball gown that seems to literally float on air. The sweetheart corset lined lace bodice is ultra feminine, with a hint of sexy. Pretty perfection!!

Now, this gown is a masterpiece...Camellia is the epitome of fashion innovation. The organza and tulle illusion overskirt is adorable AND removable!! This fantastic gown is a fashion maven's dream come true. A perfect opportunity to borrow the celebrity trend of wearing two looks, without changing gowns. The slim sheen lace gown by itself is a show stopper, with delicate dual straps flattering the low, open back and gorgeous neckline. Now add the overlay skirt....icing on the cake!! The girly bow combined with cascading ruffles trailing the skirt is a breath of fresh air. Hands down......one of my top favorites.

Spring 2012 Bridal Fashion.... New York Marketing Recap

Fashion is forever evolving, and although bridal trends are not as quick to change as ready-to-wear, we are seeing a slight shift in styles this season at New York Bridal Market. It was an inspirational experience to say the very least.

Spring 2012 is all about refined glamour. It's Prima Ballerina meets Marilyn Monroe, and I cannot get enough!! The feminine silhouettes and dreamy fabrics were combined to create a beautiful vision of whimsy AND wow.

Bridesmaids dresses followed the "fashionable" suit quite nicely. We viewed everything from adorable prints in lighter fabrics, to amazing lace overlays. The were no frumpy fits to be found....in fact, pay attention to your gams ladies, because these hemlines are certainly shorter than seasons' past. Designers have also made it much easier to allow your bridal party to choose their own neckline and silhouette, while remaining in the same fabric and color scheme. Some collections were even shown like this on the runway.

Veils and accessories also received a fashion facelift. Toni Federici debuted some unbelievable crystal embellished veils and introduced variations of the uber popular "tucked" veil. Blushers are big again, but birdcage veils have flown the coupe. We are really excited to unveil the Spring 2012 Serendipity Bridal Belt collection later this month as well. Our motto this season is "Go big, or go home...." We bring in new skinnier widths, more sparkle, color and the most beautiful, handmade silk flowers that you can imagine. So flipping excited about this line!!

Another refreshing observation of this trip, is that each designer is offering different interpretations and visions of what they would like to see in Spring of 2012. This is such a delight for me as a buyer for Serendipity Bridal, because we continue and strive to offer a large number of designers for our brides to choose from......so there is a special look for each of our cherished clients.

We are officially booked up this weekend for an amazing viewing of the "Best of" and runway gowns for the Fall 2011 Jim Hjelm Trunkshow. Limited spots are available on Friday and possibly spill over appts before and after hours on Sat.

This huge turnout is no surprise given the amount of media and press attention that this collection has received. Within this great showing are amazing gowns ranging from glam trumpet styles, to textured ball gowns....this season really has it all!

Jim Hjelm is known for his whimsy and romance, and the remarkable silhouettes are just one more reason that this designer is swoon worthy in my book.

I love the overall look that Molly Sims chose for her wedding. The balance of the formal hair and trimmed veil paired with the ease of the slim lace and organza gown, create a bridal style that is elegant and lovely.

The lace Marchesa gown is beautiful with an illusion neckline and flutter cap sleeves.

The ballerina bun surrounded with a braid and adorned with a jeweled brooch is the PERFECT choice to create a clean look, and keep the attention on her gorgeous mug. I love the lace trimmed veil placement under the 'do.

Can we talk about these adorable bridesmaids?? They each wore different floor length Elizabeth Kennedy designs in neutral shades. They don't match..but they certainly "go."

The host of Project Accessory, Molly Sims, gets married over the weekend in the Napa wine country. According to E!online, Sims wore a Marchesa gown, and jewelry by Lorraine Schwartz. Pictures are still not released, and although this former Sports Illustrated swimsuit model would stunning in just about anything, I would love to suggest a couple of designs that I would love to see this beauty wear down the aisle.

Given the intimate setting of a small guest list in the Napa Valley wine country, these lighter and slimmer gowns would be totally appropriate, and super-duper flattering.

Watters San Francisco is such a similar silhouette to this gown worn recently by Molly, this would fit right into her boho-chic style.

Lazaro LZ3169 fit and flare organza gown would be amazing on this supermodel for so many reasons...the fitted nature, yet ease of the shape would show off her great frame without adding too much structure to take away from the softness of her style, and the organic feel of the overlay and the textural petals would almost float down the aisle in the wine country.

Emmy Awards Gown Review

I would love to see the huge rise in downloads of Chris DeBurgh's '96 hit, "Lady in Red" after last night's chrimson tide hit the red carpet. Good gracious, there were a ton of red gowns out there!

My fav of team RED? Nina Gobrev in Donna Karan. The fit is immaculate, and the hem is modern, but doesn't take away from the overall fluid line of the gown. I love the variation on a traditional sweetheart neckline. Very Lazaro esk.

Kelly Osborne in J Mendel is the gown that I would most love to see in ivory and on a bride. I adore the straps, and the proportion of the mermaid silhouette. Pretty fantastic. Great tip for brides: create straps like these with a seamstress to a similar shaped gown and get a custom look!

Sarah Hyland wins for best use of an accessory. This belt is such a great addition to the one shoulder salmon, pleated chiffon gown. Bridal belts still melt my heart.

Heidi Klum was adorable in her sassy short number by former Project Runway winner, Christian Siriano. Love bouncy, textured hems?? We do too!

Cat Deeley could trade her clutch for a bouquet and be a beautiful bride in this Monique Lhuillier strapless. Overlays are really big this season in bridal as well. Lazaro has an amazing option in the Spring 2012 line.

The Emmys host Jane Lynch looks regal in her David Meister jeweled toned strapless. Hmmm.... look familiar Amsale girls?

Drumroll please....My overall favorite of the night?? Glee's Heather Morris in this amazing purple plunging neckline gown with fantastic ruffles cascading down the skirt stands out amongst the crowd and commands attention. (the good kind of attention) IN LOVE!

So, ok. I predicted black for the Kardashian bridal party, but the color choice for the ceremony gowns ended being the COMPLETE OPPOSITE... ivory....just like Kim. Is Kim taking a note from the Royal Nuptials and following in Pippa's path? They all look amazing, and kudos to Kim for sharing the spotlight. Personally.. I still would have gone with black.

Now I am all for the shape..it's truly amazing. Watters 9614 has a similar line with an incredible back. Can you imagine these stunning sisters in these gowns?? In a classic, crisp black?? Just sayin'...

People Magazine has the full wedding photo album, and Kim and Kyle's big event will air on E! on Oct. 9th suitably called Kim's Fairytale Wedding: A Kardashian Event. Once again, my job will require me to run out and purchase this magazine and set my DVR to record this segment.....for research. ;)

Courtesy of People.com we can examine sketches of all three Vera Wang custom designed that this Hollywood Princess wore on her big day.

Her ceremony style was all out Fairy Tale...this ball gown strapless gave Kim the grand entrance that she was seeking. The basque waist on the Chantilly lace bodice matched the appliques on the train. She wore a Lorraine Schwartz headpiece paired with a cathedral length veil adorned with Chantilly lace at the hem. I do love the variation of headpieces, and the fact that she did not go "all out" princess with a typical tiara.

This look can be achieved with any headpiece that has an adjustable closer, such as "bejeweled" from Toni Federici.

Her first wardrobe change was a dramatically different shape. This is more of the silhouette that I had predicted for the buxom babe, and reportedly, this was her favorite. She was consistent in the use of a Chantilly bodice, but went with a much sexier Georgette mermaid skirt. The bottom of the skirt consisted of mixture of hand cut organza petals, embroidery and Chantilly lace.

Wanna take this look up a notch, and get away with one show stopper for the evening?? Here it is...Lazaro 3150.

Lastly, there was the "party time" dress. This modern and simple gown is a bias cut crepe-satin gown with a v-neckline and circle skirt.

I love the old Hollywood feel of this gown. WTOO's "Serafina" has that same style with a dramatic sweetheart bodice and black sash.

Kim Kardashian's Upcoming Wedding Details

This event been given almost the same amount of buzz that the Royals received....cooky. I have never watched a full episode of Keeping up with the Kardashians, but I admit that I fully plan to record this nuptial shindig on Saturday. Only for the fashion, of coarse. :)

Speaking of, Madam Tussaud released their own version of what they envision this reality princess sporting down the aisle. If her dress resembles this style in the slightest...I stand corrected. My prediction could not be any more different. We shall see.

As long as we are all betting on the fashion choices, let's not forget the other ladies' frocks. Now, although it is August and temps are sky rocketing here, the weather is much more pleasant in Montecito. (The alleged location for the wedding.) The sisters could very well wear long dresses and be perfectly comfortable, however, I am predicting short gowns for these mavens. If I might also be so brazen...I am betting on black or charcoal as the color choice. I very well might be totally off base, knowing that these ladies are not afraid of bold colors, but I stick to my convictions.

I am also thinking that Kim might give all the sisters their choice of silhouette, but stick to one fabric and shade. Every beauty in this family is built extremely differently, (much like any other bridal party), and this would be a great way to tie everything together, as well as be true to each individual's style and comfort level. I know that Vera Wang is customizing a gown for each member, however, I chose some styles from Amsale's 2012 bridesmaids line that might resemble the famous party's pieces. The more structured one shoulder look, and the abstract bow are huge for the upcoming season. The classic sweetheart neckline with a tiny pleated detail and lush fabric would be an appropriate choice for the younger sisters.

The 80's trends have resurfaced....let me rephrase that....the BEST of the 80's trends are resurfacing themselves in new ways. A little less terrifying???...... Agreed.

Does anybody remember Madonna's "Like a Virgin," bridal gown?? I sure do. Loved it then, love it now....

Let's deconstruct this iconic number, and see how the look has been brought back...Exposed boning bodices- check! Raw edge hemline- check, check!! Sure we left the "boy toy" belt out, and for good reason, but there is a reincarnated key accessory that I am LOVING, and hoping to see more of: lace gloves.

Here is how they have been recreated for brides of today....they are shorter, sweeter, and much more delicate, but by no means is this a trend for a shrinking violet. The look is royal, regal AND super fashionable. It is an accessory for a confident bride, that isn't afraid to start a trend or two.

My favorite updated version, is Toni Federici's "Tara."

Kim Kardashian's Wedding Gown

I have to say that I am not surprised that Kim Kardashian's upcoming wedding is creating a super buzz; with all the details being released from pictures of the cake tastings to the invitations....can you imagine what headlines her gown will make?!?

So now it's prediction time....

We all know that it is more than just her pretty face that has made this beauty famous, so I am pretty sure that she is not going to down play her largest asset on her big day. Her sister, Khloe, wore a stunning Vera Wang gown, and incorporated a colored sash to bring in the shade of lavender to tie in the wedding party.

Rumor has it that Vera is a family friend, so more than likely Kim will follow suit, and wear Vera as well. If I had my say, I would style this vixen in Marisa, style 918, from their Fall 2011 line. At market, this gown was lovingly referred to as the "booty dress." What could be more fitting??

This slim gown is created with gathered alencon lace, then dramatically flares into an organza layered skirt just above the knee. The natural elasticity of the lace allows movement while it hugs every curve. Kim would be stunning in this number....absolutely stunning. Marisa is very hush-hush about their dresses, which adds to the secretive, celebrity appeal.

I think that Kim would look beautiful with a matching chapel length alencon mantilla veil, like style "Lacey" from Toni Federici. Keeping in mind the black and tan accents used on her wedding invitation, I think that Kim should borrow a trend from her little sister and add a waist cinching, black sash for the reception. Our own "James" design would be a fantastic regal touch for this celebrity princess. Don't you agree?? ;)

More amazing gowns are making their way into the salon, and this week I was super excited to see that some of the newest Jim Hjelm and Paloma Blanca designs have arrived!!

Jim Hjelm,(like many other designers this season), is all about the sassy fitted, trumpet skirt. This bridal powerhouse never fails to please with his incredible aesthetic and genius designs. These two variations give totally different feels with similar silhouettes.

JH 8156 is a beautiful, floral organza trumpet skirt with a pleated silk chiffon draped bodice. The back closure is low and super feminine. There is an outrageously fantastic horse hair bow with crystal accents at the natural waist that gives this romantic design a flirty, cool twist.

Finish this look off with Kendra Scott's "Jeanine" earrings in a soft shade of petal, and Toni Federici's fashion forward "Sunflower" bustled veil, and you have a completed, high end bridal style.

JH8161 is a scrumptious silk satin trumpet gown. There is an embroidered floral bodice with the softest finishing touches ever. A thick ivory satin ribbon is added to the natural waist....giving a perfect option for adding an individual touch, such as a colored ribbon for the reception.

Imagine adding the Serendipity "Andreas" belt in black for an additional textural interest and contrast of color. Crazy adorable!!!

Paloma Blanca's newest line has proven to be a huge hit! The shapes and fabrics are flawless as always, and the addition of texture create a fantastic, fashionable collection.

Style 4213 is a one-shoulder knockout of a gown! Not only is it beautiful, but it is structurally so fantastic that it gives a slender shape, AND the ease to boogie all night long. Seriously. The silk shantung pleats are flattering and smooth, and the pop of floral detail on the shoulder is GORGEOUS! The soft cloud hem gives the appearance of walking on air...what could be better?!?!

Soft, side swept hair with a feathery comb and bird cage veil, like "Wysteria" from Toni Federici would be a great way to complete this unbelievable bridal look.

Truly amazing! It was such an honor working with Liz Fields this Saturday at her runway show in San Antonio, Texas for her first annual Military Gala, honoring our troops. It was an unbelievable experience to say the least, and the CMT Television crew made it even more exciting!

The wonderful models from Entourage Model and Talent Agency were fantastic, and the makeup artists and hair stylist from Madame Makeup out of San Antonio, Texas were AMAZING!! They helped these already pretty girls transform into catwalk divas and the looks they created paired beautifully with the dresses....and, speaking of dresses....OH, MY, this Liz Fields Spring 2012 collection is rockin' good! I am talking show-stopping, jaw-dropping good. I wish that I could share photos with you, but I am sworn to secrecy until the unveiling at market.

Kimberly Chau was there to capture the magic of the evening, and she was such a soothing addition to the crew. I could not have asked for a more perfect group of photographers to work with. Keep an eye on her blog for show updates and photos.

Quite possibly one of the most gorgeous additions to the evening's ambiance was the emcee, Holly Mills-Gardner. I am proud to call this beauty queen a friend, and assure you that she is as beautiful inside as she is on the outside. She rocked a Liz Fields evening gown like a star! ;) Popular blogger, Cathy Hale, was also on site to capture behind the scenes happenings, as well as the attendees' touching stories throughout the night. (also sporting the Kendra Scott jewelry)

American Idol finalist, Michael Sarver gave an amazing performance for the military audience, and could not have been more gracious to be a part of such a wonderful event. Feedback from our honored guests was an overall feel of "the best night ever." Way to go Liz!!

I am still glowing from the whole experience and cannot wait to share more details as we get them cleared from the production company. CMT announced that the series about The Swanderosa Event Venue should be airing early fall. I will pass along more information as it comes our way. I can tell you that the family that runs the events are truly amazing people, and have hearts of gold. They deserve all the best publicity as possible. They have poured their hearts and souls into creating wonderful events on their property and truly care about each person involved. Thank you Swan family for making us feel at home inside of yours.
